Our centre

Welcome to the Cobbett Library First Class Learning Centre in Southampton. We provide Maths and English tuition to support children in the local community from Early Years and primary (KS1 and KS2) through to secondary education (KS3, KS4 and GCSE).

Our expert tutors believe in 1% steps to 100% success. That’s why each child who attends our tuition centre has an individual study programme, based on their needs, and only moves on when they are confident with a topic. All our tuition materials meet the National Curriculum aims and objectives.

The comprehensive Maths and English tuition programmes are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their schoolwork and beyond. Our experienced tutors have extensive experience of working with children, accompanied by passion and self-motivation about education.

At First Class Learning Southampton Cobbett we thrive to see children of any age and ability excel and achieve success at their own pace.

How it works

One of our First Class Learning tutors will meet with you to discuss how we can help your child with maths or English. They will then sit down with your child and complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child’s needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child’s learning. If you feel happy with our plan and that we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre. In these classes they will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with the tutor, who will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.
